Ping Lombardi, RN, BSN Gamma Knife Nurse

A participating physician with the Taylor McAdam Bell Neuroscience Institute’s Gamma Knife Program, Dr. Bastasch has been a practicing radiation oncologist with the Washington Hospital medical community in Fremont, California, since September 2006. He is board certified in radiation oncology and has undergone specialized training in Gamma Knife technology.

Ping Lombardi has been a registered nurse for 34 years, and has worked at Washington Hospital for 27 years. Her specialties include Intensive Care, Critical Care, Peripheral Inserted Central Catheters, and Renal Dialysis. After graduating from University of Santo Thomas in Manila, Philippines, where she earned her Bachelors degree in Nursing, Lombardi trained in Cardio Thoracic at Albert Einstein in the Bronx, New York.

When Washington Hospital opened their Open Heart Surgery Program in 1988, Lombardi was asked to be one of ten pioneer nurses. Her experience, along with her dedication to providing excellent patient care, made her an obvious choice to be a pioneer nurse for the Gamma Knife program.
